Throughout most of my life I have been an avid reader. I was a history major in college and have always had an interest there. Early on, the historical fiction genre became a favorite of mine, with James Michener being the main component. I then gravitated to the horror genre through the lure of Steven King, Peter Straub and others. Later in life I developed an interest in spy thrillers, which were popular during the Cold War era. After reading 'The Hunt For Red October' I was hooked on Tom Clancy's works. Over the last twenty years I have concentrated my efforts mostly on thrillers, mysteries, and true crime works. Over this period my favorite authors have been Lee Child, Jeffrey Deaver, Stephen King and David Baldacci. Most recently, my favorite author (and possibly all-time favorite) has been Greg Iles. I just finished one of his older books 'The Devil's Punchbowl'. I had developed a big interest in his works after a trip to Natchez, Ms. in October, 2015. I am retired, so I have a good deal of time to read.
